Curriculum

St Alberts offers a diverse range of learning activities.

Regarded as one of the best schools in the Riverland, St Albert’s provides students with the academic, social and life skills to thrive in primary school, secondary and beyond. The unique combination of highly skilled educators, excellent facilities and ample resources ensures that St Albert’s is a great place for learning for all our students.

St Albert’s is a place where:

  • We pride ourselves on small class sizes, providing children with maximum one-to-one interaction throughout the school day.
  • We are fortunate to have quality specialist programs with expert teachers in all of these fields. Our specialist subjects are: Music, Physical Education, German and Food and Nutrition.
  • Our teaching and learning program at aims to provide a broad and relevant education that is appropriate to the needs of each student along a continuum of learning.
  • Welbeing is important to us. We are a part of the Resillience Project to support the social and emotional wellbeing of our students. We also run other programs such as Friendly Kids and are a part of the Growing with Gratitude program.

Curriculum and Learning

Everything we do in our school is about learning and we believe this happens within and beyond the classroom. Our learning program is shaped by the eight learning areas in The Australian Curriculum along with Religious Education. A detailed outline of the learning areas can be found on the Australian Curriculum website. We believe we learn through interaction with others, therefore children are provided with opportunities to work together, to collaborate and connect with the wider community. Children learn best when they feel safe, have ownership of their learning and when experiences are purposeful and relevant. We believe that it is vital for student growth that we regularly seek and interpret evidence to inform our teaching.

We use data to inform decisions about our learning design. Teachers draw on a range of formal and informal learning data to understand where children are up to in their learning journey and where they need to progress next. In this way, we ensure learning growth each year for all children.

Our specialist learning areas are Physical Education, Music and Languages – German. We access specialist sporting clinics each term to give the children a range of experiences.   All children belong to a house team and each year we hold our Sports Day in our school grounds, this is a great community day and we warmly invite all members of the St Albert’s community to join us.

At St Albert’s, our highly professional staff are committed to providing the best education for your child.
